DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22
LOOKING FOR A GREAT PUBLIC INTEREST SUMMER JOB?
The Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project (PLAP) is offering 3 or more positions for summer 2010. These are SPIF-eligible positions, and these jobs satisfy the pro bono requirement.
Summer student attorneys at PLAP represent inmates at disciplinary hearings and parole hearings, and assist inmates with other issues such as lost property, outstanding warrants, or medical problems via hotline. This is a GREAT experience: you pick the cases on which you work, and you work on them from start to finish. This is a great way to learn valuable skills, including interviewing clients, arguing cases, and writing appeals when necessary.
No prior experience or coursework is necessary. We are looking for dedicated individuals who have a strong interest in working closely with clients, managing their own cases, and are not afraid to learn. A DRIVER’S LICENSE IS REQUIRED.
If you are interested, PLEASE SUBMIT A RESUME TO SARAH MORTON AT smorton at law.harvard.edu BY MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22. We will then contact applicants for interviews. Interviews will be fairly informal and will last for approximately 30 minutes. Please email Stacey at skennard at jd11.law.harvard.edu or Sarah at smorton at law.harvard.edu or call 617-495-3969 if you have further questions regarding our program.
