leipzig fills up with german cosplayers. still inferiour to japanese ones.

German cosplayers

Cosplayers have arrived in Leipzig for the Gamers Convention Leipzig event. But with exception of the above awesome example, the other outfits prove laudable. Perhaps Germans are simply too European and cool to pull off cosplay awesomeness? Or perhaps manga/anime artists really do design their characters to be best suited for Japanese cosplaying. Hit the jump for a German Final Fantasy cosplay vs. Japanese Final Fantasy comparison smackdown.

there are a VAST number of german people who cosplay outside of cons that are insanley good. japanese cosplayers are really good, but they also have a notion to photoshop everything ever. they’re still good, but its a different platform. depending on the character, asians can pull it off better, or white people can pull it off better. cosplay is almost perfection only in japan. when my brother just came back from a con in tokyo and he said that theres definitley a BIG share of japanese cosplayers who aren’t good at ALL. he said people have to sign waivers to be allowed to photograph, so they dont really have the ‘typical con photos’ like westerners do, you know the crappy ones inside with the flash and everything. we generally get to see the best cosplay and not so much the bad stuff.
