I’ve lived in Cambridge 10 years — several of them on the River — and never knew that dragon boats have been racing here since 1980.
I’ve seen these race in Flushing, NY, right about this time of year and
was pleasantly surprised to see them here. The crowds were quite
boisterous and loud; we could hear them from our backyard.
I
also ran into one of my former students, Helen Wong, who was paddling
for the “Y.” (I hope I got that right). I hope her team did well, but
it looks like neither the Globe nor the Herald reported on this event
today.
