alive, barely kicking

Its been a dry-heat, stuck-inside, cabin-fever kind of month. I’ve been sick; my daughter’s been sick. I’m still sick. My daughter is still coughing. What can I say?

And there’s been no bike riding since before Christmas.

It all came to a grinding halt with the snow. We tried taking the stroller a few times – plowing through slush and wading through puddles –  but it was too much of an ordeal.

Our newest discovery is the bus. It goes right by a street that is three streets behind our house, and it brings us to three  blocks from Rada’s daycare. The great thing is that Rada thinks the bus is an adventure. She gets very excited, doesn’t even mind the wait — when it is invariably late.

There was one misunderstanding, however, when I showed up at her daycare with the car, having taken her to work earlier that day on the bus. She flatly refused to get in the car, insisting that we take the bus. For a moment, I considered abandoning the car and retreiving it the next morning, but managed to convince her that we would ride a bus soon, just not right now.

Molly, I hope that both you and Rada feel better soon! Remember, Spring is just around the corner! Too funny about the bus ride vs car ride home – so much for that sweet little mind to absorb!!!!! Glad you were able to compromise, though!
