Out of the loop – having too much fun

I’ve been out of the loop, with out-of-town visitors both at work and at home. Life has been busy and too much time has been spent in lakes, pools and oceans and just not… enough… time in front of a computer. Bad Molly! Bad! (heh, heh, heh)

When the photos arrive, they’ll be posted forthwith.
I do have some, though, to share right now. These are from a rare visit from our Kazakh friends. They came from halfway around the globe and fell in love with Maine and a tiny little grey cabin on a little tidal creek.

Here is the group cavorting in the water.

This next photo is a treasure. It shows Rada’s Kazakh ‘grandmother’ (who facilitated the adoption), Rada’s real grandmother (that would be Mimi, my mom) and the woman who watched over Rada til I could find her (the director of the baby house where Rada lived).

This is just amazing to me! I didn’t realize that you were in contact with the Kazakh folks! I also didn’t realize that you knew Rada’s Kazahk grandmother. Do you also know her birth parents?

    Hi Mary,
She was not really Rada’s Kazakh grandmother. She was the liaison between the babyhouse and the agency that I worked with. And Rada got to know her quite well and called her ‘Apa’ (the Kazakh word for grandmother) but she is not Rada’s grandmother, and is in no way related to Rada’s birth family. I should be more careful the words I choose. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Welcome back! I hope you had a great week off.
