Tomorrow morning I’ll get up and eat breakfast with my daughter. We’ll both brush our teeth, put on our workday clothes, and head out the door. I’ll drop her off at school at the normal time and wish her a fabulous day, and then I’ll turn around …. and head ….in the opposite direction of work.
Yee Haw!
I’m taking a vacation day . And I won’t breathe a word of this to my daughter. If she knew what I was doing she’d seriously lobby me to let her take the day off, too. So I’ll intentionally leave the house exactly as it was when she left in the morning, and I’ll make sure to wear the same clothes I dropped her off in that morning. And when I pick her up at the end of the day, I’ll pretend that its been same old ordinary day.
Now, I’m going to spend my ‘vacation day’ running errands, shopping, and vaccuuming. But hopefully there will be time for a quick trip to the library and few moments to curl up with a book….

Good for you, Molly! A much deserved day to yourself! Be sure to find time for pleasure. As I often say “I’m not lying, I’m just not telling the truth!” Enjoy!
