Several days ago my daughter ate steamed broccoli. I’m so proud of this accomplishment, it may get added to my resume.
Are you wondering how I did it? Here are the tricks:
1.) I introduced it when she was at her very hungriest (less likely to turn up her nose).
2.) I smothered it — and I mean smothered — with huge amounts of melted butter and salt.
3.) The next day it was served to her, I eased up ever so slightly on the butter and salt. Yesterday, the salt and butter were almost at acceptable levels and she was still eating it with gusto.
Of course you are awed and amazed. I will be accepting speaking engagements…

You may feel free to impart your motherly wisdom on me at any time! I will need all the help and advice I can get.
I wonder if my kid will have aversions to vegetables. Both Matt and I like most veggies. In fact, broccoli is my favorite and I had no trouble eating veggies as a kid. That said, the veggies I ate as a kid were usually from a can! (Thanks, Mom!)
Nice! I love broccoli. Mix it up and give it to her with a little melted cheese.. a dairy (yay!) and it’s yummy. 🙂
Stacy, you’re going to be a _great_ mom, and you’ll come up with original ideas and insights that you’ll share with me. Its like a circle, or a spiral, in that we learn from each other.
