Nonprofit “Digital Public Library Of America” To Launch In April 2013 | TechCrunch, 5 April 2012

Enter the Digital Public Library of America, which aims to create a similar catalog of works, but both more comprehensive and unimpeded by commercial motives. It’s been in the works for a while, but it seems it may finally launch as early as a year from now.

The NEXA Center for Internet & Society announces strategic agreements with Keio and Harvard | NEXA Center for Internet & Society, 02 April 2012

The agreement with the prestigious private university in Japan follows the signing, in April 2011, of a partnership – after many years of collaboration – with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. As part of the NEXA-Berkman collaboration, prof. De Martin recently spent five months at Harvard as Berkman Center faculty fellow. Also prof. Alessandro Mantelero, faculty fellow at the NEXA Center, is currently spending a month at the Berkman Center. The executive director of Berkman Center, prof. Urs Gasser, sits on the Board of Trustees of the NEXA Center.
