• The Berkman Center needs the space on December 2. We need to meet elsewhere. Any ideas?
• We aren’t meeting next week because of Thanksgiving.

  • Marc began a very brief history of software
  • the idea for the future is that there will be more kinds of microcontent that’s structured so different software programs know what to do with them
  • standards are powerful
  • blogs are only going to go so far, but more people will write reviews, like those on Amazon or epinions if we can apply standards to these reviews, that would be incredible
  • people: FOAF (friend of a friend), Sxip (pronounced skip) through these networks, we can move data about people could be good for partnerships between sites requiring registration/membership
    
  • he also sees that linking people together could be useful as a way to get people money for online sales, like for music

  • linking calendars and such; many things are out there, it’s a matter of figuring out how to link them and what to do with them

    • MC: privacy is very important. vendors might provide their own privacy mechanisms
  • GR: What can we do to help?
    • MC: We want to partner with different organizations, like yours.
    • GR: Well, we aren’t really an organization …
    • MC: Grassroots is good. Maybe we should start with a closed wiki to get going.
