Manila Blog Server Shutdown Timeline
Some of you who have content on the Manila server run by the Berkman Center for Internet & Society for the last four years have been wondering what’s next. Wonder no longer. The server administrators posted a timeline. People have through the day on Wednesday, April 18, to get their content. After that, the URL is changing and people might lose editorial access to their weblogs. After April 25, the server will no longer be accessible via the Web. The admins will back up all of the files.
So, um, get your stuff, like, oh, NOW.

Hi,
I was away on vacation and missed the deadline to migrate my blog over to WordPress. I tried to do that now by going to my blog on cordelia, but the login feature has disappeared, so there’s no option to migrate.
I also tried to post a comment, but no longer remember my password since it was automatically filled. I’ve used the blog since 2003, and would greatly appreciate your help.

Hello Jaskaran,
I e-mailed you privately, but thought I’d respond here so people would know someone has tried to assist you and because other people might have the same question you ask.
You can do the migration without logging into your
Manila weblog. The instructions are available via
http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/blogsupport/Main_Page
through the ManilaMigration link.
After you create a new weblog via
http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/, you will find an option
in the WordPress menus to migrate content from Manila.
When you create a new blog, you can even use the same
directory name as your Manila blog.
If you need further assistance or more time, write to
weblogmaster@cyber.law.harvard.edu. The server
administrators are fairly reasonable guys who can
probably help you.
I hope that at least helps a little bit.
Good luck!
