Mission

The curriculum seeks to develop greater understanding of copyright and to support librarians’ mission.

The course will be available in April 2009 in online and offline formats. The first audience will be the eIFL community gathering librarians from 50 developing and transition countries.

The modules will be made available under a Creative Commons Attribution license on the Connexions platform, encouraging other communities to re-use, translate and build upon this Open Educational Resource.

The methodology will be participative. In addition to studying the course modules, learners will be invited to lead comparative legal research to describe how the international copyright framework applies in their national jurisdiction. An interactive environment will host discussion between participants on copyright issues from the perspective of libraries.
