Dr. Arul George Scaria is an Assistant Professor of Law at the National Law University, Delhi. His key areas of interest are Copyright, Open Access, Knowledge Commons, Law and Economics of Intellectual Property Rights, Competition Law and Empirical Legal Studies. He did his doctoral studies at the International Max Planck Research School for Competition and Innovation (IMPRS-CI), which is a doctoral program jointly offered by the Max Planck Institute for Competition and Innovation and the Ludwig Maximilians Universität, Munich. His post-doctoral research at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), Belgium, was in the area of open access to large scale research data. His recent publications include Piracy in the Film Industry: Copyright and Cultural Consonance (Cambridge University Press 2014).
