I am a Ugandan trained lawyer with interest in Copyright law, Open Access to knowledge initiatives, Creative Commons, Intellectual property for access, health and human rights advocacy issues, national and international humanitarian law, access to medicines, research and documentation, building communities, and advocacy. I have experience building active communities of civil society groups for advocacy on access to medicines issues in Uganda, communities of lawyers for open access to educational resource initiatives, coordinating youths in University teams to build clubs for health advocacy and influence health law and policies in their confines. I led a team of Creative Commons (CC) affiliates in Uganda to draft & launch CC ported Licenses based on Uganda’s law of copyright, I have led research teams and participated in research initiatives on issues of intellectual property and access to medicines, open access initiatives and led advocacy initiatives on copy right reform, building a community of Creative Commons Affiliates, Porting CC Licences to a Uganda Copyright context, advocacy on trade and how it relates to people’s health in Uganda and the East African Region. I am familiar with national and international human rights based mechanisms of addressing rights violations, e- campaigns, I have been exposed nationally and internationally and can work under very minimal supervision.
