So much going on!

As some of you may already know, we are waiting to here from the painter that should be coming to the house in the next couple of weeks to paint the exterior! We are really excited and have spent the past couple of weeks repairing the criss-crosses in all the windows, priming them and painting them. May sound like a simple enough task but whoever put the windows in had this brilliant idea of putting these criss-crosses in EVERY window (most are 6 over 6, plus 3 picture windows!). One thing I have learned from this experience? I wouldn’t want to paint houses for a living! Although, we were on vacation last week and we got a lot done as the weather was wonderful (for the most part!).

If you’re wondering, we’ve selected “broken arrow” as the color for the house with maroon-ish shutters. “Broken arrow” doesn’t say much but I guess it’d best be described as a light brown (okay, all you graphic designers – got a better description?)

Then we were surprised when the town workers dropped off a pamphlet notifying us that they would be showing up this week to scrape the pavement on our street as they will be repaving it over the next couple of weeks! I was quite pleased to hear this as, when we signed the P&S on the house 4 years ago, the street was in really good shape however, between then and the time we closed on it, they’d dug the street up to accomodate new water pipes they’d installed. They actually did a fairly decent job repairing it so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they were actually redoing it!

I can’t wait ’til it’s all done! It’s gonna be soooo cool!

Hi Mary! That sounds exiting! You must take pictures so we can all see. Broken Arrow is a funny name for a paint color. It doesn’t bring anything to my mind. Not like “Woodland Mystery,” which is the soft green color of our kitchen! 🙂

    Hi Mary,

You and your husband are so industrious and hard working! It’s really impressive.

You MUST take photos. I want to see it all: the before and after pictures, and the color of the shutters, too.
