The yard

As always, we’ve spent a good amount of time in the yard so far this year. We had a dumpster brought in a couple weeks ago because with all the woods on our property, you really have to stay on top of things and keep them cut back, else eventually, we’re not going to have a yard! Its hard to believe how much stuff we pulled out:

Across the top there, it says “DO NOT FILL ABOVE THIS LINE” so hubby had to climb right in and do something about that:

We were laughing so hard, we were almost crying!

I do remember the day when I would get all anxious when he’d be cutting things back/ down. Now in our third summer there, I’ve come to realize that we can cut down whatever we please because it will grow back!

One of the new additions to the yard is my antique ladder:

We actually placed it in such a way that it appears to be reaching up to the birdhouse that we’d hung high on a tree so we could enjoy it from the deck:

(You can click to enlarge any of these photos, to get a better idea of where I was going with this idea!)

I actually got the idea from the Trash to Treasures website at Dave’s Garden. Must head over there now to share with them!

Happy summer! I hope all of you are enjoying yours as much as I am!!!!!
