The Possum’s Laying on the Wild Bananas
A particular Carter Family song has come on the work jukebox and caught my attention twice in the past week or so. It seemed as though Sara were singing “The possum’s laying on the wild banana”. That’s my kind of lyrics!
However, I’ve looked it up now. Although those are the right lyrics, I can’t love this song: here are all the words.

If you knew anything about the carter family you woudn’t say ignorant shit like that. A great song from a slave’s point of view. read your history, travel books from the era. BTW, the Gourds do a great cover of this song, and apparently The Gourds are a bunch of racist peckerwoods and crackers. You’d probably hate it though.

How is it that just anyone can create a blog and get as popular as this? Its not like youve said something incredibly impressive –more like youve painted a quite picture around an issue that you know nothing about! I dont want to sound mean, right here.
