I suggest you watch the TED talk of Jill Bolte the neurologist who has a stroke and made it a case study ! Make note of her discovery of Nirvana – we are more than the CBU.
Both my parents were scared of dying. Mom’s first Cancer had her in tears. She lived a few more years before the second Cancer got her.
Dad was scared enough that his next younger brother came to visit early just to ensure his older brother that death wasn’t ‘just dirt and worms’. Uncle had extensive experience in PSI in the ’80’s including several out-of-body experiences.
In ’04 I had the proverbial ‘life flash in front of my eyes’ and a momentary flash of fear when I was informed I had no insurance to pay for the Cancer surgery that was the only chance to save my life. Then I started to think about what I wanted to do in my last days. I only had to dwell on that a few days as my insurance status was reversed.
I don’t have a link but I read that there was a proposal to build a crematorium as an energy producer. But since I didn’t follow the link it might be someones idea of fun to make people ‘creepy’.

You’re right, very creepy. This http://naturalburial.coop/about-natural-burial/ is enlightened. Hope I’ll be around long enough for the VA to embrace this concept.

Natural Burial seems much better. At least the CBU’s resources are returned back to the dirt, rather than into the air. Might as well be able to ultimately grow some food and keep the circle complete.

My preference, Jan and RBM. I’ll leave the choice up to my survivors, but I’d rather give my dead meat back to the Earth as fertilizer than to lock it in sealed boxes or to waste fuel burning it.
Better to push up daisies than to take up space or fuel.
And I hope I’m around long enough too. 🙂

Since both my folks gave their bodies to science with a cremation to follow, I had always thought it was predetermined by the individual. Obviously not.

Thanks, Jan, for the link. Imagine my surprise to learn not only that there is such a thing as Natural Burial but that there is a location within an hours drive — more or less — of where I live. It sounds attractive to me, but it’s a bit hard to talk to my family. Like Doc, I’ll probably leave the choice up to my survivors, but will try to make them aware of this possibility.
