My inkjet printer needs new cartridges. Went to Microcenter to find combined price for black and color $65. For $20 more I can buy a brand new printer, complete with new cartridges.
Can’t I just use a third-party product or refill my old cartridges? Not if I have a Lexmark, which has added copyright protected code to their printers which make them inoperable with third-party ink. Now the North Carolina legislature has approved a measure which guarantees the consumer’s right to refill ink cartridges.
