Saddam Buried Weapons – NYTimes

According to a "bold and entirely plausible theory " just posted by the
New York Times, Saddam ordered his weapons of mass destruction destroyed
before allowing in the UN weapons inspectors, to deny the US an excuse
to invade, while retaining the capacity to reconstitute the programs when
international attention had shifted elsewhere.

Sounds "plausible", but not exactly "bold".  And
even if the weapons were "destroyed" or "buried in the desert", shouldn’t
we still be able to find traces?
