South Pacific at Charlestown Naval Yard

One of America’s favorite musicals in three free
outdoor performances incorporating a real WWII Destroyer, the USS Casin
Young. Get there early and tour the USS
Constitution, oldest commissioned warship in the world (1797).

The Boston Landmark’s Orchestra
and Boston National Historical Park present Rogers and Hammerstein’s
American Classic South Pacific at the World War II destroyer USS Casin
Young. There is no parking, so audiences are encouraged to take public
transportation and bring a lawn chair. Community College and North Station
are the nearest T stops.
Aug 8-10.

  1. Frank (The Chipster) Snyder says:

My father was stationed on the USS Casin in 1944. He passed away last Feb. I would like to find out more info on this ship if I could. I was on Sub’s myself. I did know anything about his Navy life until after he passed away. He wasn’t much of a talker! LOL
    Thanks for any info.

  2. Look at this website (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Cassin_Young)
It has a lot of info on the ship. Sorry about your Dad. I was also in the Navy but 40 years later.
