Ben Hammersley’s Unfortunate Precedent

I’m sure he’s a nice guy, and he did make it to Kabul, but
I have to say Ben
Hammersley has let me down and must be removed from my
list of blogging heros. After inspiring us all with his plans to "fly
to Islamabad tomorrow, and from there by train or bus to Peshawar. On Saturday
I’ll be crossing the Khyber Pass and making my way to Kabul. All being
well, technology and men-with-guns willing, I’ll be posting from every
stop, and weblogging from Afghanistan for ten days or so. Movable Type
meets Mujahedeen."

Well, turns out that the men-with-guns route was too dangerous, so Ben
changed his plans and flew into Kabul via Dubai.  The first thing
he did in Afganistan today – made sure his flight back out was booked
for Saturday
(he has to move on Tuesday).  So how many Mujahedeen he can meet in
4 days in Kabul will be interesting to note.  Or not.

If he posts anything interesting I’ll let you know. Some nice photos
already.
