I was there. This is the only plane to grace our skies in recent history that does not look like it was designed in the 1940’s. It was innovative, fast and sexy. Can you say the same about the A380 or Dreamliner? The aircraft manufacturers seem to be stuck in a timewarp. Is there any other mode of transport that looks the same now as it did in the 40’s? When will the step change – in terms of speed, emissions and passenger comfort – come? When I was a kid in the 1970’s I thought we’d be living the Jetsons life by now !

I worked at Heathrow in the 70,s and Concorde was a living breathing beauty in my book. Only came to an end because the French did not clear the runway properly prior to the accident, and it offered the government the perfect excuse to ground her. sadly missed!
