Tomorrow’s Class

Here
is a page I just put together for the class I will teach tomorrow in the Multimedia
lab, called "Ten Things I Bet You Don’t Know About Google".

Of course, all of YOU already know all of these tricks and hidden features,
being Internet mavens and power-users from way back, but my students
are mostly
foreign
MBA candidates, and probably don’t.  If any of you readers are teachers,
feel free to rip off or adapt this page for your own lab sessions….

from my BU web site…..

  1. Lisa Chau says:

In calculator mode if you type in something like “What is the meaning of the universe” (I forget the exact wording — It’s a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference), Google will return “42” as the answer.

“answer to life, the universe, and everything”

Someone at Google is a Douglas Adams fan
If you search for answer to life, the universe, and everything the new calculator function they put in will tell you it?s 42. Which, if you’ve read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, is correct.
