Arnold’s Austrian Birthplace Plans 80-foot Erection

Plans
to build an 80ft statue of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator character
in his Austrian home town have been resurrected.

The steel abstract design was shelved earlier this year after Schwarzenegger
said he would rather see the money going to charity.

But now Arnie is the governor of California, city councillors believe the
statue could draw thousands of extra visitors to Graz.

A UNESCO study found that the futuristic cyborg killer played by Schwarzenegger
is the most famous film figure of all time.

Project author Herwih Hoeller said the project should go ahead: "It
would be the perfect way of showing the world how Graz is linked in with
the actor. Schwarzenegger is, after all, our biggest cultural export."

Batman declined comment.
