Romanian woman tied her ex-husband up for 35 hours – one hour for every
unhappy year she said she spent with him.

Elena Gheorghiu, from Botosani, divorced her husband in 1987 but continued
to live in the same house after failing to agree on an amicable split of
their property.

The local daily newspaper National says the 57-year-old woman decided to "take
revenge" after he returned home drunk.

She said: " I was sick of his drinking and of him selling whatever
we had in the house to get money for alcohol. He came home one night so
drunk that I decided it was time for revenge for the 35 unhappy years I
have spent with this man.

"
I don’t regret what I did one bit – he was whimpering like a baby locked
up in the room.".
