Wanna See My Bike Hit 80?

BOSTON – A 17-year-old Acton man has been arrested for allegedly throwing
a 10-speed bicycle off the roof of a three-story apartment building
in Boston, hitting and injuring a woman on the sidewalk below.

Justin E. Towne was charged with two counts of assault and battery
with a dangerous weapon following the incident early Saturday morning.
He was released on personal recognizance after pleading innocent at his
arraignment Monday.

The woman’s boyfriend told police that the couple was walking in
front of an apartment building in the city’s Allston neighborhood at
about 1:25 a.m. Saturday when she was struck with a beer can that came
from the roof. The man said a bicycle then fell from the roof, striking
the 24-year-old woman in the head and knocking her to the sidewalk.

We heard Justin on the radio this morning, as we drove our recently
excavated white whale (beautifully camouflaged in the snow) in to work.
He said he was "so sorry". that throwing his bicycle off the roof was
a "stupid, drunken mistake" and that he would "definitely quit drinking."
A real piece of work.
