The icfind project features a tool to find collections of images from public libraries. The project argues that libraries’ photo collections need to be built into the DPLA if it is truly to be a nationwide digital version of the local public library. The tool also promotes access by mapping the collections on Google Maps. The prototype is being built on CollectiveAccess, which includes tools that can be used for cataloging images individually, as well as for integrating Google Maps with collection metadata.
