This Sprint project addresses issues of interoperability across repositories of content, suggesting ways the DPLA might transcend these obstacles. The project uses the case study of the Digital Medieval Manuscript Interoperability Project as a model of an interoperable environment that successfully separates repositories of images and metadata from the tools and applications used to access them. They extrapolate out from this case study to discuss a broadly applicable pattern and approach to breaking down information silos to enrich the scholarly landscape.
