Nominating Committee Member & Executive Director Suggestions

Following DPLA West and a June 2012 meeting, the Steering Committee has begun the work of establishing the DPLA as an independent non-profit organization. One of the first steps toward that goal will be to create a small nominating committee charged with the responsibility of proposing a geographically, professionally, and racially/ethnically diverse group of individuals for membership in the inaugural DPLA Board. Among other important duties, this Board will carry out the work of selecting an Executive Director and a location for the new organization.

From June 14 to June 24, 2012, the Steering Committee accepted suggestions for candidates to serve on this nominating committee, as well as initial suggestions for those who might fill the role of Executive Director.

Thanks to everyone who suggested candidates for these two positions; the Steering Committee will soon convene and vote on the proposed candidates for the nominating committee.
