The Emerging Leaders @ HLS program was founded by C.J. Azubuine and Maria Leister in an effort to support Dean Martha Minow’s mission to foster a learning community at the Harvard Law School (HLS).

Emerging Leaders was created to give Harvard Law School employees the opportunity to develop leadership skills through educational sessions, mentoring, events, and community service.  HLS staff who have worked at the Law School for less than ten cumulative years are encouraged to apply.

According to the Harvard Center for Workplace Development (CWD), Emerging Leaders @ HLS is the only professional development program at Harvard University founded and operated by staff.
