Clinic Releases White Paper on Oversight of Offshore Drilling in the Arctic

The Clinic today released a white paper on offshore drilling, “Recommendations for Improved Oversight of Offshore Drilling Based on a Review of 40 Regulatory Regimes.”  This paper identifies general program elements from existing safety and environmental programs that would improve the regulation and oversight of offshore drilling, and is the first step in a multi-semester project aiming to produce a set of recommendations tailored specifically to the regulation and oversight of offshore drilling in the Arctic.  Clinic students Douglas Hastings (JD ’13), Chase Romney (JD ’12), and Sophie Tease (LLM ’12) worked on this paper
