Kagan主政哈佛法学院期间极力推动哈佛学生从收入丰厚的大律所工作转向服务公共利益（public interest work, 例如政府、NGO等)，今次又身体力行，想来明年暑假去政府实习的学生数量一定会激增。

美国政府官员职位的翻译众说纷纭，连Attorney General、Solicitor General也有两三种译法，其他的如Deputy Attorney General、Associate Attorney General、Assistant Attorney General就更不用说了。把Attorney General翻译成“司法部长”的译者，希望传达给读者的是美国”大司法部“的概念；而翻译为“总检察长“的，则着眼于Attorney General这个英文称呼本身就不遵从其他各部称部长为secretry惯例的事实。Solicitor General的情形则更加复杂。Solicitor General总管联邦政府诉讼法律事务，主要的职能是在联邦最高法院代表联邦政府出庭，由于其对法律规则发展的巨大影响力，常被称为“第十名最高法院大法官”。Solicitor General地位相对独立，就其工作性质本身而言，更像是政府公职律师，故此，也有译者主张把Solicitor General译为”政府首席律师“。
