Call for Papers: Law of the European Union

The Harvard European Law Association is seeking articles on EU law for online publication in the Harvard European Law Association’s internet site, http://www.law.harvard.edu/students/orgs/hela/workingpaper.html The working papers series is the precursor to an eventual EU Law Journal (ca. 5 years hence). Articles may be of any length. Book reviews and biographies or unscientific writings are not in the Working Paper Series’s ambit and cannot be considered. Political science works may be considered, exceptionally, where the topic is clearly of direct concern to lawyers and judges. Rigorous scientific standards are to be observed – an average of 4-6 notes per page, an abstract of the article in English, spacing 1.5, times new roman 12 pt, complete footnotes, not endnotes or inline notes. Articles without abstracts cannot be considered. Where possible, articles should include abstracts in more than one language. Bibliographies may be included but are not required. Articles may be submitted as doc, rtf, pdf or html. Articles will be considered in English, French, German Spanish and Italian. In those cases however an English language abstract must be provided. Editing will go to grammar and language only — non native English speakers’ articles will be grammatically corrected into standard international English by the editors. The editors will not be able to bluebook your work and works with incomplete and incorrect footnotes will not be considered. Inline notes (parenthetical style) is not acceptable. Ibid, Id. or Op.Cit. forms may be used or omitted. Correct numerotation of footnotes is the author’s responsibilty. The notes should be in the bluebook format, though British legal footnoting style is also acceptable. Electronic formatting is the principle responsibility of the author — essentially, presented works should be “camera ready copy”. Main text 12 point, times new roman, 1.5 line spacing, 10 point times new roman for footnotes.
