New Sites Blocked in Syria?
A recent smattering of reports from Syria would indicate that the country – named one of the 10 worst countries to be a blogger by the Committee to Protect Journalists – has cracked down further on sites of a certain nature. The website of Samir Kasir Eyes (skeyesmedia.org), a free speech and free culture organization based in Beirut, was reported to have been recently blocked by Syrian authorities. Two Herdict reports from Syria confirm inaccessibility (though we’d love to have more!)
Political sites SaveSyria.org and 14March.org were also recently reported to have been blocked.
