For note the Simpsons is on its 15th Season already. That’s a really long running TV series. One neat thing about animation is that the passage of time for the characters can be hidden which is impossible with traditional TV show series as actors do get older and children actors are the ones where the changes are most noticeable.
What I find interesting about long running TV shows is the micro-cosmos that builds up around them after they hit a few seasons of running. You can get lost in a miniworld that is completely dreamed up but feels very real to many people who watch and like the show
