Preservation Services recently completed the conservation and digitization of Chinese rubbings from the Harvard-Yenching Library. Preservation has been working on the digitization of Chinese rubbings for nearly 10 years, beginning in 2004 with the Fine Arts Library’s Rübel Chinese Rubbings Collection, and concluding with the imaging of the largest of the Harvard-Yenching Library’s rubbings, the last of which is 245 x 98.5 inches, with the resulting image stitched together from 18 shots.
