Chief Minister Raman Singh has announced that the Chhattisgarh state government will send a report on the 1984 pogroms to the central government:

“I have
asked district collectors to collect records about families affected in
riots after Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated. Based on
these, the state will send a report to New Delhi about the losses and
number of families affected,”

“It’s a
two-decade-old case and over 400 Sikh families were targeted in the
state’s nine districts. We will ensure that the affected families are
given adequate relief and compensation at the earliest,” he remarked.
