Home for the holidays… Merry Christmas!

December 24th, 2003 by MrLuxuryFashionGuru

I *love* flying – where else do you get such views from the comfort of your armchair?

Taken from the window of the plane on the way home.  It’s been a while since I’ve seen the sun rise. View from the Top FRA-SIN (17 Dec 2003)“>

I’m home!  🙂  After over 30 hours of travelling and transitting, and five days spent shopping, eating and generally living the high life in Bangkok.  I had my hair cut. I now own five more pairs of footwear. I ate a ridiculous amount of seafood, and other assorted delicacies.   I highly recommend Bangkok as a great, and cheap!, holiday destination.

For about SGD10 (US6.50) per person, you can get an overwhelming amount of good, fresh seafood, including crabs, seafood tomyam soup, steamed grouper, king prawns etc. etc.  And the roadside setting only adds to the ambiance 😉

With my parents and sister Jenevieve.  Opposite us are my father’s sister, her husband and Nathaniel, one of her two sons – there were 23 extended family members on this trip. Bangkok Chinatown Seafood (19 Dec 2003)

So much seems to have changed in just four brief months.  The newspapers have a different layout, the basement of Wisma Atria has been overhauled into a considerably more open-plan, casual dining area, the long-vacant Leo house at the end of the street is occupied by a family with a pool table on the porch.  I could go on and on.

In other news, I did gratifyingly well (relative to others in the class) for the Chem midterm I took just before leaving campus (I had less than two hours to pack after leaving the exam hall).  I sure hope this signals that I have a chance of rescuing my abysmal grade in the final.

I absolutely must get some work done tomorrow. Neil has the right idea about the Christmas break, in more ways than one.   I now only need to worry about writing two essays and studying for three final exams in the next couple of weeks.  That, and how to carry back all those shoes I bought in Thailand 😉

Merry Christmas everyone!

Thank you for this write-up. Did you know that in Hair shampoo, the detergent that cleans you hair is the identical cleaning soap you identify in typical laundry washing detergent?
