I just learned that my step-brother’s grandma (that’d be his dad’s mom), Grandma Stearns, is going to be on Thursday’s (May 1) Today Show because she’s turning 100. My step-mom considers her to be her grandmother. I’ve heard a lot about this lady, but haven’t met her (yet). Way to go, Grandma Stearns!

I punched one of my best friends in high school in the arm over a misunderstanding that is quite trivial in the grand scheme of things. Brian Bacon, I apologize to you here in this public forum.
(no pressure no pressure no pressure no pressure no pressure) Check under Friday, April 25 right below the lyrics to “Rocky Top.” Liz is a terrific news researcher who’s much admired among her news librarian colleagues. Her blog was featured on Newslib, the Special Libraries Association News Division and main news librarians e-mail discussion list, […]
“Peep Research: A study of small fluffy creatures and library usage” by Susan Avery and Jennifer Masciadrelli of Millikin University. And people say librarians have no sense of humor. I admire war correspondent Ernie Pyle. Until today, I don’t think I had ever read any of his columns, but I knew who he was and I appreciated the work he did. Indiana University’s journalism program has begun to put some of his pieces online. Maybe Harvard should have broken the tradition of not awarding […]

Well, I’ve tried to find a theme and colors that’ll work in Netscape, but I haven’t had much luck. This is about the best I can do.
and this happens to be one of them. It looks okay in IE, but the colors and navigation don’t come through in Netscape. I was warned about that before I began working on this blog, but now I know it’s definitely true and a problem. I’ll see if there’s something I can do about it […]
