Ladies and Gentlemen, Figure One
Lab meeting aside, I’ve been pushing hard since Kati left Friday morning. Two late nights (it’s 1:23 at night as I write) in a row, with essentially no distractions or breaks, and I’ve finally got something for Figure 1, at least a starting point, if not the final thing. I’m still pretty overwhelmed by how small of a part of what needs to be done this represents, but I can’t help but be a little proud of making this look rather nice:
Now, for some truly well-earned sleep. Didn’t think I had the late nights in me anymore—but I guess I’m starting to warm up again and slowly approaching my stride.

Ben – a sterling achievement! A thing of diagrammatic beauty, Tufte would be proud. A “small” thing, maybe, but a grand piece of work nonetheless. If this is the sign of things to come, I am increasingly excited to see the rest of the work!
