Carolina Rossini on Preliminary Conclusions from The Industrial Cooperation Project

June 9th, 2010

The Industrial Cooperation Project (ICP) is finding more and more evidence for commons-based production outside of individuals, and in industrial sectors where the knowledge products are more inherently digital, like in educational materials and genomics. Other industrial sectors, like alternative energy and diagnostic kits, are seeing less commons-based production.

Carolina Rossini — a Fellow with the Cooperation Research Group at the Berkman Center — explores some of the preliminary results of the Industrial Cooperation Project’s study, and poses some questions about how best to create the boundary settings that facilitate the emergence of commons-based production across different classes of industrial sectors.
