(Note: The relevance of this article lies in the fact that a cover-up in a town like Muegeln can also happen in Saxony, in Sebnitz. It can have happened, at the time of Joseph’s death.)
“(Moderator:) ‘More than a month after the men from India were hunted down and attacked, people in the town of Muegeln in Saxony want to hear nothing more about the scandal. Instead, they’ve turned the victims themselves into criminals. In other words, it was the men from India who were to blame for the brawl, and people in Muegeln are now accusing them of injuring Germans. What really happened that night, though? Who injured whom, and when? Confronted with all sorts of inconsistencies and apparent attempts at a cover-up, our reporters Caroline Walter and Alexander Kobylinski went after the facts’.
“(Moderator:) ‘Do you come from one of the German states that once formed part of communist East Germany? Maybe you come from Saxony? Is Muegeln your home town? Well, good night – you won’t want to watch any more of our report, because since the xenophobic attack on eight men from India not long ago, the entire town of Muegeln has been under suspicion, together with its 5,000 inhabitants. Anyway, that’s what the people of Muegeln believe. Now the town wants to clean up its image, but that won’t be easy. We’ve spoken with witnesses who were there the night of the attack, and their take on what happened is quite different from what is being reported in Saxony now. What follows is everything that Caroline Walter and Alexander Kobylinski have found out for us’.
“(Journalist:) ‘We’re at the town market in Muegeln. Even the traders from India have set up their stalls. They don’t want to talk with us, but others do want to talk – about them.’
“Town resident: ‘As far as I know, it was the men from India who started stirring things up in the festival tent. And they had to expect a reaction – that much is clear.’
“Town resident: ‘I’d say it’s their own fault, those people have only themselves to blame, because they started it, theoretically speaking.’
“Town resident: ‘From what I’ve heard, it was the men from India who started it’.
“(Journalist:) ‘The men from India are no longer victims, they’re now perpetrators. People say that it was they who injured Germans by throwing bottles at the festival. That’s what a lot of people in Muegeln want to believe. What really happened hardly interests anyone anymore.
“ ‘Even Saxony’s Prime Minister Milbradt has decided to worry more about the state’s image than about the truth.’
“Georg Milbradt (Christian Democratic Union), Prime Minister of Saxony: ‘Dear friends, I know exactly how the people of Muegeln feel. There was no attack in Muegeln, but rather an attack on Muegeln and on the people of Muegeln’.
“(Journalist:) ‘Suddenly it’s all the fault of the media – and the foreigners. But what really happened in Muegeln that night?
“ ‘We’ve obtained a video taken with a cell phone that shows how the police tried to get control of the situation in Muegeln.
“ ‘But what had really taken place up to that point?’”

(Bemerkung: Die Relevanz dieses Artikels liegt darin, dass eine Vertuschung in einer Kleinstadt wie Mügeln auch in Sachsen, in Sebnitz, passieren kann. Es ist möglich, dass das passierte, zur Zeit des Todes Josephs.)
„(Moderatorin:) ‚Über einen Monat nach der Hetzjagd auf Inder will man im sächsischen Mügeln nichts mehr von dem Skandal hören. Stattdessen macht man inzwischen die Opfer zu Tätern. Es heißt, die Inder wären selbst Schuld an der Schlägerei gewesen. Sie hätten Deutsche verletzt. Doch was passierte wirklich in der Nacht? Wer hat wann wen verletzt? Angesichts vieler Merkwürdigkeiten und Vertuschungsversuche haben sich Caroline Walter und Alexander Kobylinski auf Spurensuche begeben’.
(Moderatorin:) ‚Kommen Sie aus den neuen Bundesländern? Vielleicht sogar aus Sachsen? Heißt Ihre Heimatstadt Mügeln? Na dann, gute Nacht. Seit dem ausländerfeindlichen Überfall auf acht Inder vor einem Monat steht Mügeln mitsamt seinen 5.000 Einwohnern unter Generalverdacht. Das glauben jedenfalls die Mügelner selbst. Jetzt will die Stadt ihr schlechtes Image loswerden. Doch das dürfte schwierig sein. Denn KONTRASTE hat Zeugen gefunden, die in jener Nacht selbst dabei waren, und etwas ganz anderes berichten, als das, was gerade in Sachsen verbreitet wird. Caroline Walter und Alexander Kobylinski’.
(Journalist:) ‚Heute morgen – Markt in Mügeln. Auch die indischen Markthändler haben ihre Stände aufgebaut. Sie wollen nicht mit uns reden – das tun schon andere – über sie.
Verschiedene Bürger:
‚Soweit mir bekannt ist, haben die Inder im Festzelt angefangen zu stänkern. Und dass sie dann auf ne Reaktion rechnen müssen, das ist klar.’
‚Ich würde sagen, die sind doch selber schuld die Leute sind doch selber schuld, weil die haben ja theoretisch angefangen.’
‚Derjenige, der angefangen hat und so wie ich’s gehört habe, waren’s die Inder’.
(Journalist:) ‚Die Inder sind nicht mehr nur Opfer, sondern auch Täter. Sie hätten Deutsche auf dem Fest mit Flaschen verletzt. Das wollen viele in Mügeln glauben. Was wirklich passiert ist, interessiert kaum einen mehr.
Selbst Sachsens Ministerpräsident Milbradt hat beschlossen, sich mehr ums Image des Landes zu sorgen als um die Wahrheit.’
Georg Milbradt (CDU), Ministerpräsident Sachsen: ‚Liebe Freunde, ich weiß genau, wie sich die Mügelner fühlen. Es gab nämlich keine Hetzjagd in Mügeln, sondern auf Mügeln und die Mügelner’.
(Journalist:) ‚Schuld sind auf einmal die Medien, und die Ausländer. Aber was war wirklich los in dieser Nacht in Mügeln?
KONTRASTE liegen erstmals Aufnahmen aus dieser Nacht vor, ein Handyvideo. Das Video zeigt, wie die Polizei versucht, die Lage in Mügeln in den Griff zu bekommen.
Doch was war bis dahin eigentlich passiert?’”
