Vice-Pres debate

After last night’s debate — wherein I found both performances less
than impressive — I flipped around the network coverage.  On NBC,
I noticed this story, pointing out the inaccuracies in many of both candidate’s statements. (They’ve conveniently made it available in a printernet form.)

Was anyone else surprised by this?  The major networks, with their
massively abbreviated coverage, have lain down on challenging the truth
and accuracy of many candidate statements over the last couple of
cycles.  This aired within half an hour of the debate.  It
seemed uncharacteristically responsible and deliberative.
