Vivian came back on campus today and we went out for a really good lunch nearby!

This wasn’t intentional, but somehow it worked out that I ate at many places with possessive names for lunch. I love Kara’s Cupcakes! Kara’s is like Sprinkles, but with organic ingredients, less icing, and a greater focus on the actual cake part of the cupcake. The cupcakes are definitely smaller though. I got the cupcake and then went to Kirk’s for my main lunch. I had heard it was pretty good, but it ended up just being kind of mediocre. I spent six dollars on a sandwich only, and then was still hungry. I then went to Howie’s Artisan Pizza since I was still hungry, and since it is very popular, but it ended up being just about the same as Sbarro in the food courts. Oh well, I have cupcakes C: C: C:

I went with James to Castro to have our accountability meeting (it’s a Christian thing) and I found out that Kirin is now out of business so we went to fu lam mum further down the street. It was super good! C: The beef supreme broth soup had a much more supreme Chinese name, but it’s hard to deny that the broth was amazingly good. I thought it would be extremely light at first, it was a clear broth with some slices of beef, daikon, and some onion, but it ended up being extremely flavorful. The mongolian beef was pretty good too, following the standard recipe, but without rice, it was a bit salty. Teppan hunan tofu was the opposite, probably since we ate the tofu before the sauce really sank into the tofu itself. Otherwise, it was a really good meal! Although, I couldn’t use my gift card to pay for dinner since apparently people give near empty gift cards and then when the restaurant owners try to take the tip off, theres no money on the card anymore. The service were originally pretty blunt and curt, but when I spoke to them in Chinese, they smiled back. Apparently they thought I was Korean.

nachos @Stanford

Today I randomly want to Late Night, Stanford’s nighttime on-campus food program where they serve snack food at strange prices using what is usually frozen food or food made from left over from dinner time. They had these crazy huge nachos today, and I panicked at the size of them, but then ended up eating all of the plate -___- SIGGHHH

Gelato is my nr. one favorite food ever! I’m a super big fan of their tiramisu. It’s really sad that Michael’s down the street no longer has it, because Michael’s is more a café than a counter and a couple of seats outside. I always get gelato when I’m feeling a bit down, but since I was pretty happy today, this was extra good-not to mention that the lady upfront was new and gave me much more than I usually get v(*’-^*)ゞ・’゚☆

モチrating: [4.7/5] I’ve had better gelato than at Gelato Classico, but gelato in general will always get a high rating!

I went to downtown Palo Alto and got a random dinner with Junichi at Zao Noodle Bar! I haven’t been here for a while, but the food was okay. Our waiter, on the other hand, didn’t really do anything but take our orders and then give us the check. My ramen was a bit like a beef pho with ramen instead and some random chili flakes, but the tofu fries were really good. It pays to have a nice deep fryer and a good assortment of sauces ヾ(^∇^)
