Love thy neighbor…

As follow up to Josh’s talk at yesterday’s workshop, here’s an example of the mobilization of North American Christians. Interesting implications for flavors of policy.

Baltimore, MD – World Relief has produced a five-part video curriculum titled “Fighting AIDS through Church Mobilization.” This free DVD is designed for small groups and Sunday school classes; walking them through the realities of this devastating disease as developing countries struggle to stop its spread and the church worldwide responds.

Sammy Mah, CEO and President of World Relief, shares the desire behind this DVD, “As you watch this video and discuss the questions posed at the end of each section, I hope you will grow in your understanding of HIV/AIDS, identify with your hurting brothers and sisters, and see them for who they are: not just mere statistics… but precious people, wonderfully knit together in the likeness of God.”

Whether through home care visits, education and prevention programs, orphan care, or economic opportunities for AIDS impacted families – the Church is living out the commandment “Love Thy Neighbor”. “Fighting AIDS through Church Mobilization” will inform and inspire churches across North America and help Christians determine how they can faithfully respond.
