Excel VBA – Automate File Compression via XP’s Built-In Utility or Using WinZip

1

This Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) module includes code I borrowed and adapted to automate the compression of files using either WinZip (registered version ONLY) or Windows XP’s built-in file compression utility.

The XP function is just what I need to include in my darts scoring program so I can distribute it. Unfortunately I can’t get it to work as I am doing something wrong. Could you please send me a working example. I( know this ask is a bit much but your XP idea is the best I have found. Thanks in advance. Geoffrey
