today:
at least two hours of the university’s time: half for ‘social networking sites’ and half to satisfy my curiosity about phone cables (yes, really)
someone’s spot at a dinner I’m organizing; it filled up before I saw their email, even though they wrote me before the people I confirmed.
my own resolution to diet, after buying some really good butter and cheese at the store
also a newspaper, since I read yesterday’s instead, despite claiming great sadness over the state of the industry

twenty seconds, when I edged in front of someone in the line for creamer after getting coffee this morning
