Amazing geographic feature OTD

I can’t get over this amazing geographic feature of Quebec. The central km-high peak is now way up on my list of mountains to climb.

I am pretty sure I’ve been there. But I was about 7, so my memory is hazy. I do remember being surprised by all the people speaking French — it was the first time I’d heard it in conversation, of course. I have a fairly vivid memory of getting tired and being left by the side of the path because my parents wanted to climb all the way to the top — but I don’t remember if it was that peak or somewhere else in the region. Also we toured the hydroelectric dam which was completely awesome, and gave me a brochure for kids all about how hydro was the best thing ever. I kept it for years and years. Future engineering librarian in the making.

Summary: Quebec is great.
