Birth School Work Death

Does anybody else remember that 80’s song from the Godfathers? For some reason, it’s been stuck in my head lately and I haven’t even heard it in years.

Unfortunately, it also got me to thinking about the title and it made me realize that I’m currently in the 3rd phase of the life cycle (work). All that’s left is death – how much of a bummer is that?

To make matters worse, my beard is growing in with a helluva lot more gray than it did the last time I had facial hair a few years ago. EEK! Oh, and speaking of beards, it looks like the comments yesterday were 50/50 (half pro-beard, half anti-beard). This makes it tough to decide what to do.

I haven’t trimmed it yet so I’m thinking that I’ll keep it until at least we go on vacation a week from today. I may shave it at that point because I’d hate to get some sun at the beach, shave it off, and be left with a bizarre tan on my face. Chris and I saw a guy in Philadelphia last week who got some sun and then got a haircut. It wasn’t a pretty sight. I don’t want to be that guy. Why can’t my face be as well groomed as the armpit a few pictures down? And why don’t men fawn all over me like that woman to the armpit?

    Karl, Karl, Karl.
This beard is causing you stress, that you’ve worked so hard to get rid off. Keep it trim for the week and if you aren’t happy, or its to gray for your vain self then shave it off. You can always try it again in the fall…….
We are all getting gray, and in the weirdest places……….:)

Karl, you are being envious of an armpit!

Besides, nothing’s wrong with a little grey.

Also, I think the song forgot one important step: Retirement! 😀

I am going to tip the scale and say keep the beard…but keep it micro short (like a number one setting on a beard trimmer)….
