Life’s What You Make It

Yep – I’m quoting another song title today. This time, by that fabulous 80’s synth-pop band, Talk Talk (although, my favorite song from them is actually the same as their name…Talk Talk).

Anyway, I chose that title because, well, it’s true. And I did feel full of life last week while I was on vacation. Life was good…and I made it that way. This week was kind of drab (but I’m sure the weather and Matt’s bad back didn’t help).

But this weekend, I’m resting because in less than a week, we’ll be on vacation number two – this time in Provincetown. Once again – I hope to make the most of it. I mean, unless you’re a religious zealot, I can’t see how anybody couldn’t have a good time in Provincetown.

We’ve intentionally left most of that vacation open and flexible. The only obligations we have (which aren’t actually obligations) are that we have some people visiting us for a few days. One pair of friends, Jason and David, will be joining us for two days at the beginning of the trip…and another pair of friends, David (a different one) and Chad, will be joining us for 3 days at the end of the trip. We’ve got nothing specific planned so it’ll just be a week of going to the beach, going to shows, going to restaurants and going to shops. How much better can it get?

So, we’re going to make the most of it! Although it’s a bit late for a New Year’s resolution, I’m going to try to make a point of living life to the fullest in the upcoming year (preferably the rest of my life, actually). I want to feel as good as I did on vacation all year long…not just when I’m on vacation!

So you local readers… I’m recruiting you to force me to have fun, dammit!

I am joining your mid-year resolution, baby! Things are about to get a hell of a lot better!! …the sun is about to come out — and we shall rejoice with the gusto of a 9 year old girl singing in full force Broadway style with an ugly red wig on the head! We’re gonna leave them lying in the aisles!

I really love the way you guys write back and forth on each other’s comments like this. Your blogs give a real sense of what you two are like as a couple , not just as individuals.

Eoh, I just came back from there yesterday and there is so much good stuff to see down there right now (and it seems to be less crowded this season than normal).

Cabaret is at PTC and David Sedaris’ Santaland Diaries is running right now too.

    Have fun!!!
